Wisdome Sustainability Lab with ESS

Wisdome Sustainability Lab is a yearly recurring initiative from Malmö Museums’ new center for visualizations and interactive learning environments, Wisdome Malmö. Throughout a period of four weeks a group of 15 to 17-year-olds collaborated with a designer and a scholar in consciousness studies in an attempt to understand and visually interpret certain functions and applications of the European Spallation Source. This seminar is about the process; challenge-based learning, co-creation and the unseen – made visible with the help of neutrons.

We live in an environment of sound of which many are considered noise, just a few are received as information. This presentation opens awareness of hearing. It helps finding tools for designing objects and services that generate sound. Silas will give an insight into 20 years of experience in his craft as a sound engineer and sound designer.

Lisa and Esa, Jollygoodfellow Printing Studio, have spent a lot of time with the sea and are interested in the sea as a resource for a sustainable future from various aspects. Seaweed is something that they pay a little extra attention to, such as food, fertilizer, oxygen producer and exciting material. The project film shows parts of the process – the collection of information, the experimentation, different perceptions of the sea and how the fanzine Ocean takes shape.

Standfriend is the solution to a rapidly growing problem: what happens when your beloved home suddenly becomes your everyday workspace? The proximity between our office desks and kitchen tables recently turned very slim. Sofa tables, bedroom drawers and kitchen furniture need to work as reasonable work stations a handful of days per week. Yellon met this challenge together with Mousetrapper - a company dedicated to producing ergonomic office solutions.

There has long been a lack of guidelines and recommendations for agreements in this area, which is why Konstnärernas Riksorganisation (Artists’ Association of Sweden) is now launching Recommendations for Design Agreements – to provide support and advice to designers and clients in the preparation and implementation of a design assignment.
