Materials + Memories = Fragments from a Spring
This exhibition originates from a creative collaboration between Mathilda Carlsson and Maria Bjuhr, part of the Malmö-based studio Keramisk form. Leading up to Southern Sweden Design Days, they are together exploring a new material combination for them: textiles, ceramics and silver. Originally, they got to know each other through crafts, mainly ceramics, and now they seek to add a new dimension to their work through textiles. The exhibition will have a sense of Spring: its lightness, rebirth and contrasts. The process will be a central part of the exhibition, which will consist of fragments in different materials. The goal is to get the different materials to interact and thus create a whole with the exhibition. Although Mathilda and Maria have different professional backgrounds, they have found common ground in working with design and crafts. They have previously worked side by side in the shared workshop, but this will be their first joint creative process. And the meeting between them will take place in the unexplored territory in which the exhibition starts: textile.
