Malmö University is an innovative, urban and international institute of higher education in the city centre of Malmö. Malmö University is characterised by global engagement, community involvement, and a multidisciplinary, challenge based approach to education, research and collaboration.
The School of Arts and Communication (K3) at Malmö University brings together art, communication, culture and technology in new and innovative ways, in both education and research.
The School offers interdisciplinary education at undergraduate, advanced and postgraduate level in design, humanities, culture and media. Here, traditional scientific and academic theory are combined with artistic methods and practical elements.
Students work with new media, design, culture and a wide range of arts. A hallmark of K3 is the collaboration with companies, organisations and other parties. Students work with real-life cases through projects and assignments.
K3 attracts researchers in several different disciplines, from design and information technology to media research and cultural sciences. Research projects can involve anything from participant design and physical computing to social media, cartoons and questions about culture and class. Much of the research is done together with external parties.
