For almost 20 years, the studio apartment at Nikolaigatan 3 has been the precious home of designer Martin Björnson.
With his workshop located in the backyard just across the street, this proximity has truly contributed to his professional carrier. Many visitors have paid visits to his workshop but never before has his home—an old barber shop—been open to the public.
To Martin, design, interiors, and architecture have a very intimate connection. It’s about contrasts in materials, shapes, structures, and colors. About spatial experiences, surfaces, scale, light, and shadow. Harmoniously executed or crazy daring. All this input from the physical world generates feelings, conscious and unconscious. What will you feel about Martin’s home and design objects?
