Concepts of Scandinavia is a textile design studio located by the vibrant docks of Malmö in the very south of Sweden. We develop new and innovative designs for the fashion forward, sustainability conscious consumer in close collaboration with our production unit in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

With ever changing trends in the market place, Concepts of Scandinavia prides itself in innovation of production techniques using raw materials that are ecological and sustainable. Based on directions of the international marketplace we develop modern contemporary designs, often with a nordic twist.

Our design team works in close collaboration with our clients to develop their range of new collections and complete their collections for upcoming seasons. Having a seamless collaboration with the manufacturing unit we ensure the correct translation is achieved from designing to product development.

Karin Olu Lindgård is a textile designer trained at the Royal Danish Design Academy in Copenhagen. Karin Olu Lindgård Studio works both with visionary design in her own studio and with commissions as a design consultant. As part of the duo Butler/Lindgård, she has had a solo exhibition at Wanås and been featured in international media by renowned design editor Katie Treggiden as an example of the development of Swedish textile design.

Matilda Ekström has a degree in textile design from the School of Textiles in Borås and The Royal Danish Academy of Design in Copenhagen.

Studio Matilda Ekström's ambition is to create textiles that are poetic, bold and long-lasting. The studio collaborates with producers in interior design and fashion, as well as designs textile objects under its own name through small-scale studio production. Sensitively examining how colour, material, shape and rhythm relate to each other is the basis of the studio's work, while the unexpected in the design process is always given a lot of space. The driving force is to create textiles that relate to a lasting discourse and that inspire people in their everyday lives.
